Flights from Bristol Airport were suspended yesterday (May 17th) following a closure by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Volcanic ash covering the west coast of the UK forced the CAA to close the airport from 01:00 until 11:00 BST, causing the cancellation of 75 arrivals and departures, This is Bristol reports.
The restrictions were originally set to be imposed until 13:00 BST.
Commenting on the disruptions, airport spokesman James Gore told the website: "Most airlines will offer the possibility of re-booking a flight or a refund, and that is something passengers must contact their airline about."
Mr Gore said there were not any planned cancellations but declined to comment on the possibility of further disruption this week.
The closure was the second time the airport has been affected by ash from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which began erupting on April 14th.
In other news, a new walk-through World Duty Free store was opened for the first time at Bristol Airport last month (April 26th).
