A Ukrainian man has been removed from the UK after he attempted to use a forged passport at Bristol Airport.
The man arrived on a flight from Paris on May 13th and presented an Estonian passport, which would afford him access to the UK as an EU citizen.
He claimed he was visiting friends in West Yorkshire for two days.
After establishing that the Estonian passport was illegitimate, border agency officers located a genuine Ukrainian passport in the passenger's luggage.
The man was detained before being flown back to Paris from Bristol Airport, where he was met by French officials.
Peter Jones, assistant director of the UK Border Agency, said that officers at the UK's ports and airports are "experts at spotting forged documents".
"Stopping fraudulent attempts to enter Britain is a crucial part of our fight to protect our borders from those intent on abusing the system," he added.
The UK Border Agency currently employs 25,000 staff.
