Ryanair teams up with SamsoniteBy James Wilson

Passengers flying abroad from airports such as Manchester, Birmingham and Gatwick could take an interest in a new partnership between low-cost airline Ryanair and luggage provider Samsonite.

The carrier has teamed up with the company to offer a new soft-sided carry-on luggage bag which, when packed correctly, complies with its weight and size rules.

Each year around 50 million Ryanair passengers travel solely with carry-on luggage in order to save money.

The new bag is available for £69, including free delivery anywhere in Europe.

Stephen McNamara of Ryanair said: "Ryanair encourages all passengers to travel with just one piece of carry-on baggage and to ensure they can get the maximum benefit from our generous, free 10kg carry-on baggage allowance."

Fabio Rugarli, Samsonite Europe president, added that the specially designed luggage is "practical and compact", meeting the precise measurements of the carrier's specifications.

The airline offers flights to over 150 European destinations.
