Passengers travelling from Bristol International Airport could be interested in the news that a nearby hotel has been granted an award for its green credentials.
Winford Manor Hotel is located next to the airport and was given a gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme last week (May 21st).
The assessor concluded that the hotel's staff are committed to sustainability, while energy and water saving measures have been introduced to good effect.
On top of this, the business foregrounds nature-related issues, it was found.
Commenting on the hotel, which caters for many travellers flying in and out of Bristol International Airport, general manager Tracey Beck said: "More recently, sustainability is of high importance to both corporate and leisure clients looking to book a conference, holiday or a wedding.
"We are an eco-friendly hotel but without the preaching or guilt trips or compromise."
In related news, North Somerset Council officers recently recommended that the region's planning and regulatory committee approves a £150 million expansion of Bristol International Airport.
