Jet2 offers free luggage on city routes

Passengers taking city breaks with low-cost carrier Jet2 this summer could be entitled to check in one item of baggage for free.

Announcing the deal yesterday (May 25th), the company said it applies to flights from Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Blackpool booked before Friday (May 28th).

Customers will be able to travel with luggage weighing up to 22kg for free, making a saving of £19.98 on a return flight to cities such as Paris, Rome, Venice and Prague.

Prices on Jet2 city break routes from the UK start at £29.99 one way, including tax and charges.

Jet2 boss Philip Meeson said: "A free bag will mean customers have more of their hard-earned money to spend in those all-important markets and boutiques."

Passengers can take advantage of the deal by entering the code 'MAYBAG' when booking online with the carrier before 09:00 BST on Friday.

The airline currently operates seven UK bases, offering 38 routes from Leeds Bradford Airport and 29 routes from Manchester Airport.

Jet2 also offers ATOL-protected package holidays.
