Jet2 launches East Midlands Airport to Paphos route

Low-cost carrier Jet2 has launched its operations at East Midlands Airport.
The carrier began operating at the airport yesterday (May 26th), offering flights to Paphos in Cyprus.
According to the company, it will aim to offer 130,000 seats per year on its services from East Midlands Airport.
The launch of the route created 250 jobs in the region and 80 jobs at the airport itself.
Other new Jet2 routes from East Midlands Airport for summer 2010 include Lanzarote, Turkey, Corfu, Greece, Tenerife and Egypt.
A single aircraft will run nine weekly flights to the seven destinations, while the airline expects to add more routes to its summer 2011 schedule.
Fares begin at £59.99 one way, including all taxes and surcharges.
Meanwhile, passengers booking Jet2 flights for travel from Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Blackpool before tomorrow will be entitled to a free item of luggage weighing up to 22kg a saving of £19.98.
