New Route From Cardiff.

01/11/2011

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling.com have announced that they will be operating a flight, three times a week, between Cardiff and Barcelona from March next year.

There have been concerns about the future of Cardiff Airport following the withdrawal of Bmibaby earlier this year. The airport faces stiff competition from Bristol, which has far more routes available. The airport operators have been in negotiations with a number of airlines to try and attract more routes for both leisure and business passengers, and are continuing with their negotiations with Delta with the hope of establishing a Cardiff - New York route.

A direct route to Barcelona is certainly a good start, as it is one of the most popular cities in Spain. For both business and leisure passengers, Barcelona is a bustling port as well as the epicentre for modern art in Spain. The main highlight for most tourists must be Park Güell, designed by Gaudí for a wealthy patron named Güell in 1900.
