A New Route From bmibaby.

16/11/2011

East Midlands Airport have announced a new route to Sicily with bmibaby. The flights will operate from May until September 2012, once a week on Sundays.

Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, technically it is a part of Italy, but has it’s own unique culture, food and architecture. Tourists can choose to just enjoy the beautiful blue sea on one of the many beaches, or if it’s a more adventurous holiday you are looking for, there is an interesting train journey available for those who want to explore Mount Etna. The train travels around the base on the volcano, offering some incredible views of Europe’s largest, and among the most active, volcanoes in the world.

Other than the beautiful beaches and the volcano, the main reason for visiting Sicily has to be the food. As you would expect the food has a heavy Italian influence, but with a distinct Sicilian spin.
