The low cost branch of the German national airline Lufthansa; Germanwings will soon be offering flights to Stuttgart from both London Heathrow and during the Summer Manchester.
Stuttgart is in the south west of Germany, in the region of Baden-Württemberg. The city is the wealthiest in Germany, and has major significance for business as Mercedes Benz, Porsche and Maybach are all based in or very near the city. The very first Volkswagen Beetle was designed in the city. From a tourism perspective there is much to see; museums, art galleries and some stunning architecture. There are five museums in Stuttgart, among them is the State Museum, which is within the ‘Old Castle’, holds much of the historical artefacts for the region. There are two major art galleries, the Old State Gallery, and the New State Gallery. The Old State Gallery has some of the finest examples of international art, dated between the 14th and 19th centuries. The New State Gallery specialises in modern art; including works from Dalí, Miró and Kadinski.
The flights from Manchester will begin in July 2012, and Heathrow in February. To book airport parking at Manchester Airport, or a meet and greet service for added convenience, click here.
