Emirates Double Glasgow Service.
11/01/2012
Leading luxury airline, Emirates has announced that they will be doubling their flights between Glasgow and Dubai, in UAE. This announcement is following a trend of more airlines offering long haul flights from Glasgow.
Currently they offer one flight a day between the two countries, this will be raised to two daily services as of June 2012. Since the route was begun in 2004 it has been very successful, carrying over 1.7 million passengers, the capacity increase will have the potential to almost double this number in the coming years. They are also introducing the first ever First Class cabin service on a commercial airliner from Scotland for the route.
Dubai is a very popular destination, primarily for business, but there are sights to be seen for tourists too. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, it is seven times the height of St Stephens Tower (which houses ‘Big Ben’) in London, there is an observation deck on the 124th floor if you have the stomach for it! It is also the location of the only 7 star hotel in the world; Burj Al Arab.
If you are going to be taking advantage of the increased capacity, why not book your airport parking at Glasgow in advance? It will save you money, which you will need when you are in Dubai! To see how much you could save, click here.
