Luton Airport Announces New Charity for 2012/13.

Luton Airport have announced that the charity they will be working with, and fundraising for, in 2012 and 2013 will be Sue Ryder.
The campaign begun with a £5000 donation, and will be followed by two years of fundraising events by the airport in aid of the charity. The charity was voted for by the public, for the first time, through the official Luton Airport website, over seven thousand people cast votes, with Sue Ryder receiving 38% of the votes.
Sue Ryder is a nationwide charity who provide hospice and other types of care for people with ‘life-changing’ diseases. They provide support and advice for carers and families of those affected by motor neuron diseases, cancer, brain injuries and other long term, life changing illnesses. They also provide a range of palliative care, both in hospices and in peoples homes.
Luton Airport has been raising money for specific charitable causes since 2008 and has so far managed to raise £120,000 for various charities. If you need to book airport parking at Luton, click here.
