Further Snow is Forecast.

As airports are gearing up for, what would usually be, the first busy weekend of the year, forecasters are claiming that more snow is on the way.

This weekend; 11th and 12th February, marks the beginning of the half term holiday in England and airports had been anticipating a surge in passenger numbers. They may be sorely disappointed. The snow will not, in all likelihood, be as severe as last weekend, or the last two years which created unprecedented delays, cancellations and passenger misery.

Heathrow were forced to cancel 30% of their flights last weekend pre-emptively, and all airports experienced delays and cancellations. BAA, which owns Heathrow said that the decision to cancel the flights was so they could have more room to manoeuvre as the snow could create serious knock on delays, which would have affected the entire week. They have been criticized for the action, but it did mean that people were aware of cancellations before arriving at the airport.

This weekend is expected to be an inch of snow, but that may change. If you find your flight has been cancelled and need to change your parking, please let us know here. To book flexible and cheap parking at Heathrow, click here.
