Newcastle to Bergen, Norway.

Flybe have announced that they will be offering flights from Newcastle to it’s Norwegian twin city; Bergen in May.
The city of Bergen is most notable for it’s enormous fish market, cathedral and the breathtaking scenery which surrounds the city. In face, Bergen translates to: ‘the meadow among the mountains’, which is a perfect description. Some of the most traditional Nordic landscapes are in the region of Bergen. From the city centre, head north and climb the Skansen, which has a zigzag path, accessible on foot which offers stunning views over the city and to the sea. The path continues up into the mountains, the further you climb the more stunning the scenery. Obviously, the climb does become far more difficult the higher you go.
Bergen also has a large range of art galleries if you would rather stay in the city; they range from modern, international art, to traditional Norwegian art. Though there is an emphasis on contemporary art, following the city being named as a European Capital of Culture in 2000.
