Another Award For East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport (EMA) has scooped another major award for its facilities.
At the recent British Travel Awards in London the hub was named Airport of the Year by an independent expert panel.
The award recognised the airport's support of the travel trade, its work to encourage charter carriers and how well it processes passengers.
Penny Coates, managing director of the airport, said: "2007 has been an incredible year for EMA, winning Best UK Airport this week is an amazing example of how well we are perceived by our peers in the travel industry.
"We are very proud of the titles we have been awarded this year which recognise the hard work and dedication of our great team.
So far this year, the airport has also picked up prizes at the Travel Weekly Globe Awards and the World Travel Awards.
Several major airlines operate from EMA, including bmi, easyJet, First Choice Airways, MyTravel Airways, Ryanair and XL. These fly to places like Alghero, Alicante, Geneva, Ibiza, Malaga, Palma and Budapest.
