Bristol Airport Forecourt To Close To Traffic

New security measures will see the closure of the forecourt at Bristol International Airport to all traffic, thisisbristol.co.uk reported on Wednesday (April 16th).
The move, which is the result of tighter regulations following last summer's terror attack on Glasgow Airport, will see Bristol's forecourt redesigned with the addition of strengthened barriers, thisisbristol.co.uk reports.
Eventually, the adjacent roadway will be moved beyond the required 30 metre exclusion zone and all vehicles will be prevented from stopping in front of the Bristol terminal.
Paul Kehoe, chief executive of Bristol International Airport, told the website: "Security is paramount, and we are already developing plans to enable us to put Department for Transport recommendations into action.
"Redesigning the forecourt and adjacent roadway will give us the opportunity to better manage pick-up and set-down by public transport and further encourage the use of our Flyer service."
He added that the service would be positioned "as close to the terminal building as allowed under the new regulations".
