Busy November For Midlands Airports

Airports in the Midlands saw their passenger numbers increase considerably in November, figures have shown.
East Midlands Airport reported that passenger numbers rose by 15.4 per cent in the month when compared to the same period in 2006.
This means that the hub has processed 5,036,466 passengers so far this year - up 14.4 per cent on last year's numbers.
John Doherty, the airport's manager, commented: "December is a great time to travel from the airport as we get into the festive spirit with a Christmas holiday competition as well as our annual carol concert, which is ran by the airport chaplaincy team."
What's more, Birmingham International Airport also reported a busy November. The Midlands hub revealed that passenger numbers increased by 2.2 per cent in the month.
In particular, more people flew to Asia and the US and to European destinations like Bratislava, Barcelona, Murcia and Paphos.
Joe Kelly, Birmingham's acting managing director, said: "It was another busy month at the airport with passengers jetting off and taking advantage of our new route to Shannon with Ryanair and additional capacity to Bratislava with SkyEurope."
