Cardiff-Anglesey Route Reaches One-year Mark

Cardiff International Airport has recently celebrated the first anniversary of an extremely popular service to Maes Awyr Mon in Anglesey.
The Highland Airways-operated route, which offers two return flights each weekday between the two hubs, was launched on May 8th, 2007 and has attracted some 14,000 customers since it began.
The anniversary of the service was marked by Ieuan Wyn Jones, the deputy first minister, who took a flight between Cardiff and Maes Awyr Mon.
He commented: "This service has been a huge success, beating all expectations. The demand reflects the need for this connection, an important development that is serving the business and leisure markets in Wales.
"The air service links Welsh communities and businesses and plays a part in helping to draw together the nation, in line with the ambitions we set out in 'One Wales'."
