Durham Tees Valley's Top Operator Announces Rise In Sales

Flyglobespan, Durham Tees Valley Airport's biggest airline, has announced today (Wednesday, February 6th) a huge rise in bookings for January 2008.

Flights to Jersey, which flyglobespan offers exclusively from the airport, have proven to be particularly popular with the local market.

Among the airline's other destination hotspots are Malaga, Alicante and the Algarve.

Tenerife, which is new service for 2008, has also been selling well.

Hugh Lang, managing director for Durham Tees Valley Airport, commented: "The boom in booking vindicates both flyglobespan's decision to offer flights to those destinations most popular with North East passengers - and our confidence that the public would respond positively to the chance to travel from their local airport."

According to Mr Lang, flyglobespan's success was underlined by the fact its 150,000th passenger flying from Durham Tees Valley was expected "within the next few weeks".

"Everything points to the rapid growth in bookings being maintained in the months ahead," he added.
