East Midlands Passenger Numbers Continue To Soar

East Midlands Airport has continued to see its passenger numbers grow.
It was announced today (Thursday, February 21st) that the total number of passengers departing and arriving from East Midlands Airport had increased by 15.8 per cent since January 2007.
The number of departures and arrivals totalled 340,069 in January 2008, compared with 293,786 in the same month last year.
Since the beginning of 2008, the airport has expanded its long-haul portfolio by launching a new service to Goa with First Choice Holidays.
This represents East Midlands' first Indian Ocean destination.
Penny Coates, managing director of East Midlands Airport, commented: "We are pleased to report another successful month of passenger growth. These figures indicate that the airport is meeting the needs of passengers across the region and beyond.
"This is a tremendous start to the year and we are hopeful that the momentum will continue throughout 2008."
