The transferal of additional flights to Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 will begin next month with a number of long-haul services, it was announced today (Friday, May 9th).
In June, British Airways' flights to eight destinations, including New York JFK, Cape Town, Beijing, and Cairo will be moved to Terminal 5.
The transferal of these services, which currently operate from Terminal 4, represents the first phase of the move of additional flights into the new terminal.
Willie Walsh, chief executive of British Airways, commented: "As we announced on April 11th, we will move our Terminal 4 long-haul programme into Terminal 5 in phases.
"We have taken this decision in the interests of customers, who remain our priority at all times. Terminal 5 is now working well, and we are pleased we can confirm our plan to move in some additional flights on June 5th."
