EXETER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN FULL SWING

The Corporate Aviation department set up a year ago at Exeter International Airport to handle a broad range of aircraft used for private aviation has helped the hub to become a full airport business partner for the English Golf Open.

Crown Golf and The European Tour - the hosts and promoters of the tournament - will rely on Exeter to coordinate the extra flights into the region and to manage the smooth transfer of golf fans, and many of the world's top players, to their ultimate destination.

The English Open returns to the European Tour on August 13th 2009 and will be based at St Mellion International Resort in Cornwall.

Deputy Managing director at Exeter Jamie Christon told European Tour: "We are very pleased to be working with Crown Golf and The European Tour.

"Exeter International Airport has built an excellent reputation for handling a variety of important clients and we were very pleased to have been asked to play a part in providing services for a tournament steeped in rich history and tradition.

"We welcome the opportunity to get involved in such a major sporting and tourism initiative and will be pleased to promote St Mellion International Resort to other corporate clients in the future."
