Exeter Ready For Busy Christmas

Exeter Airport is getting ready to cope with what its bosses believe will be an extremely busy Christmas period.
The south-western hub expects to handle more than 5,500 passengers on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Christmas. More than two thirds of these people will be travelling to overseas destinations.
These predicted numbers are up more than five per cent on last year and represent the growth that has occurred at the hub in the last 12 months.
"Our customer services staff are fully aware of the expected increase in passenger numbers and in particular we are prepared for an unusually high number of elderly passengers and families on the move at this time of the year," explained spokesman Stephen Ayres.
"There is also a requirement for passengers to know what they are carrying in their baggage but we predict that, as last year, many people will get to check-in and not have a clue what has been neatly wrapped in Christmas paper and innocently popped in before the trip."
According to the airport the most popular destinations are Cyprus, Madeira and Tenerife.
