ROBIN HOOD AIRPORT PARKING NEWS - 10/11/2008
Double celebrations were in order for British regional carrier Flybe this weekend as it won two top aviation industry honours.
Firstly, the airline picked up best domestic airline at the 16th Annual Scottish Passenger Agents Association (SPAA) Travel Awards in Glasgow.
It was also named most environmentally responsible budget airline at the British Travel Awards in London.
Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer for the airline, which flies from a number of British locations including Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster, expressed the company's delight at having been recognised.
Mr Rutter said: "We are delighted that the trade in Scotland has given such a strong indication in recognising our commitment to serving local communities and supporting the regional economies of Scotland.
"Flybe is also particularly proud of its record relating to its environmental responsibility and, having invested $2bn into a new fuel efficient fleet of aircraft and launching the worlds only ecolabel for the aviation industry last year, are delighted to have now won no less than three prestigious environmental awards this year."
Flybe acquired BA Connect in March 2007 and now flies to 30 European airports across 12 countries.
