Flyglobespan Achieve Milestone At Durham Tees Valley

Flyglobespan today (Thursday, February 14th) welcomed its 150,000th passenger to fly from Durham Tees Valley Airport.
Mrs Norton were surprised with a bottle of champagne when checking in on the airline's morning flight to Alicante.
Flyglobespan is Durham Tees Valley's biggest airline, operating flights to Tenerife, Lanzarote and Faro among other destinations.
Commenting on the airline's achievement, Hugh Lang, managing director of Durham Tees Valley Airport, said: "We are really pleased that North East travellers are supporting their local airport and are pleased they are taking advantage of the flight only and package deals available with this low cost airline."
Rick Green, flyglobespan's chief executive officer, remarked: "We are delighted that our flights have proved so popular that, in a relatively short space of time, we have carried such a large number of passengers from Durham Tees Valley airport.
"Our bookings for summer 2008 are also looking very strong," he added.
