High Percentage Of Scheduled Flights On Time At Birmingham

Birmingham International Airport had the highest percentage of on time scheduled flights of all major UK airports between October and December 2007.
That is according to figures published today (Wednesday, April 16th) by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), which revealed that of all scheduled flights operating from Birmingham Airport, 80 per cent did so on time.
This figure was 11 per cent above the national average.
Charter operations at Birmingham Airport were also revealed to be punctual in the last quarter of 2007, with 74 per cent of all flights operating on time.
Will Heynes, the airport's operations director, said, "Our reputation as an airport that's easy to get to and easy to get through is reinforced by these latest CAA figures.
"We work closely with our airlines and handling agents to ensure that delays, which are kept within our control, are kept to a minimum, and we thank all of our partners for their continued hard work."
Birmingham International Airport recently reported that it handled a record number of passengers in March 2008.
