Increased Flights Between Cardiff And Newcastle

Cardiff International Airport will offer travellers more flights to Newcastle this summer.

Starting April 7th 2008, UK regional airline Eastern Airways will increase Cardiff's weekday service to Newcastle from two to three flights.

Peter Phillips, head of marketing and communications at Cardiff Airport, welcomed this further investment by Eastern Airways.

He said: "The airline has successfully developed what is clearly emerging as an important route for the business community. This addition provides convenience for frequent travellers with a high level of inflight service."

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways' chief operating officer, commented: "We are offering the best business-led schedule to Newcastle from Cardiff providing Welsh business travellers with greater flexibility and choice of services to help them maximise their day visits to north-east England."

South Wales has strong business links with the north-east in a wide range of industries.
