Leeds Bradford Airport Awarded As Green Hub

Leeds Bradford International Airport has been recognised as an environmentally-friendly hub, it was announced today (Monday, May 12th).

After a recent audit, the airport received ISO 14001 certification, which is awarded to businesses that have incorporated green issues into their management.

In addition, Leeds Bradford business partner Aviance recently achieved 97 per cent in its bi-annual external health & safety audit, which took into account aspects such as manual handling, first aid and risk assessments.

Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation development director at Leeds Bradford International Airport, commented: "We are delighted to have again achieved ISO 14001. It goes a long way in demonstrating our ongoing commitment towards effectively managing our environmental issues.

"We are very proud of our business partners and the hard work and commitment that they have put into making sure that Leeds Bradford International Airport makes for a clean, safe and comfortable environment."
