Leeds Bradford Gets New York Flights This Winter

Leeds Bradford International Airport has revealed that Jet2holidays.com will offer flights from the Yorkshire hub to New York.

The flights will depart from Leeds Bradford in November and December and use Newark Airport in the US.

Jet2holidays.com explained that it was offering four-day Christmas shopping breaks departing from Leeds Bradford on November 6th, November 13th, December 4th and December 11th.

These cost £699 per person and include flights, three nights' hotel accommodation and all taxes and charges. It will also sell seats on the flights from only £579.98 including taxes.

Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation development director at the airport, commented: "This announcement is fantastic news for the airport and the region and we are delighted that Jet2Holidays.com has introduced these initial short breaks to New York.

"A transatlantic route has always been high on the agenda for Leeds Bradford International Airport during route development discussions and [the] announcement takes the airport and the region that step closer to securing a regular schedule service to New York."

Richard Bodin, the managing director at Jet2holidays.com, said that the service might be extended if the four trips prove to be popular.
