Liverpool Airport To Display Local Artwork

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is set to develop its growing status as a public arts venue.
The airport announced yesterday (Wednesday, February 27th) the launch of its Community Art Project, which will give local artists the opportunity to display their work within the terminal.
Throughout public areas of the terminal, five large sections of wall space have been allocated for the input of a variety of artists, including photographers, schools, weavers and embroiders.
Neil Pakey, managing director of Liverpool Airport, commented: "We are looking forward to working with a wide range of artists, offering people something different to look at alongside the current exhibits at the airport.
"It will be great to show off the local art talent to European visitors and who knows; maybe we can help be a springboard for the careers of the Liverpool artists of tomorrow."
Liverpool is the European Capital of Culture for 2008.
