Lufthansa Plans Birmingham To Hamburg Service

German flag carrier Lufthansa has said that it plans to start operating a service between Birmingham and Hamburg.
The new flight will run daily from Monday to Saturday, departing Birmingham at 08:15 and arriving into Hamburg at 10:55 local time. The return service will leave Germany at 07:00, landing into Birmingham at 07:45.
According to the airline, the new route will begin operations on March 31st and seats will start at £39 one-way and £79 return.
Peter Vella, Birmingham International Airport's business development director, commented: "Lufthansa is one of Birmingham's longest established scheduled carriers so we're really pleased to be able to launch another route with the airline's team to compliment its existing network to Frankfurt, Munich and Düsseldorf from Birmingham."
Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa's UK general manager, added: "This new service shows the importance of Birmingham within Lufthansa's worldwide network.
"As well as offering our Birmingham passengers quick and easy access to Germany's second largest city
the service also increases the availability of onward connections as Lufthansa continues to develop Hamburg as a mini-hub to central and eastern Europe."
