Manchester Airport Access Road To Be Closed Temporarily

One of the main access roads to Manchester Airport will be closed temporarily while Network rail install a new bridge underneath it.
The work is part of scheme to create an extra platform at the airport's station.
The access road, Outwood Lane, will be closed from 10pm on Friday, February 15th until the early hours of Monday, March 3rd.
Bob Longworth, capacity planning manager at Manchester Airport, said that it was impossible to predict how much longer road users should allow, but he affirmed that major disruption was not expected.
"However, the morning and evening peak periods are always busy so we are advising people not to leave a little extra time for the trip," he explained.
"Because the majority of people who work at the airport park their cars in Staff West only a minority are likely to be affected by the closure of Outwood Lane."
The jointly-funded project is set to cost £15 million.
