Millions Of Pounds To Go Into Glagow Airport Revamp

Glasgow airport will invest millions of pounds in revamping its main terminal.
This year capital spend on terminal improvements will rise to £25 million, representing a huge increase on the £16 million spent in 2007.
The majority of the money will be invested in the "skyhub" extension, which is currently under construction and will reach completion in October
The project is aimed at significantly increasing passenger capacity.
Gordon Dewar, managing director of Glasgow airport, commented: "It promises to be an exciting year for the airport.
"When it opens in nine months time, skyhub will transform the experience for passengers using Glasgow airport, offering state-of-the-art security screening, and a wider choice of bars, shops and restaurants for a fast, safe and enjoyable airport experience."
The airport plans to shut its rarely used second runway, a move which will save an extra £9 million to go towards work on the main terminal.
