ABERDEEN AIRPORT PARKING NEWS - 23/11/2008
A leading low-cost British airline has suggested further routes could be added to its portfolio from Aberdeen airport.
Flybe has indicated that it is looking at increasing its portfolio of services from the Scottish regional hub.
"We will continue to look at new opportunities. The question here is when, not if," Mike Rutter, Flybe chief commercial officer, told the Press and Journal.
The indication came as senior members of the company gathered at Aberdeen Airport to celebrate the first flight from the facility to have a crew consisting entirely of locals, following a major recruitment drive in the city.
Weve always stressed our commitment to enhance the regional economies within which we operate," Mr Rutter said.
While no specific details were on hand at the time, the newspaper indicates that Cardiff, Norwich and Manchester could be the prospective destinations in question.
Aberdeen is known as the 'granite city', in reference to its architecture and quarrying heritage.
