Mr A Football Checks In At Glasgow Prestwick
The oldest football in the world was flown last week from Glasgow's Prestwick airport to Hamburg Lubeck in Germany.
Low-cost airline Ryanair flew the old ball to the town where it is due to feature in an exhibition about the World Cup.
It is thought that the ball, which is made from pig's bladder, was used by Mary Queen of Scots and dates back to the sixteenth century.
The football is to feature in the Fascination of Football exhibition in Hamburg later this month.
The famous ball was even checked in under its own name of Mr A Football and was given its own seat on the Ryanair flight.
"Flying the oldest football in the world is yet another milestone for Ryanair. The valuable ball was well taken care of and arrived on time in Hamburg Lubeck," Ryanair spokesman, Karl Hogstadius, commented.
In order to celebrate the occasion, the budget airline has announced the launch of a seat sale with flights on offer from as low as 14p.
