New Edinburgh To NYC Service Launched By Delta

A new service from Edinburgh to New York has been launched by Delta Air Lines.
The carrier officially started operating the route from the Scottish airport to JFK on Friday, May 2nd as a result of growing customer demand for direct services to the US.
Delta is only the second airline, along with Continental Airlines, to offer travellers a direct route from Scotland to New York.
Holidaymakers and business travellers alike will now be able to take advantage of 36 regional connections including the Caribbean.
Commenting on the new route, Edinburgh Airport's David Johnson said that the hub is certain that it will be very popular.
He told the BBC: "As well as being a key gateway to the US, JFK is a major hub and offers a huge number of onward connections. We are confident this route will prove very popular with both business and leisure passengers."
Denise Hill of VisitScotland added: "Delta's new flight offers us a great opportunity to position Scotland as a must visit, must return destination in our biggest international tourism market."
