New Heathrow To Tel Aviv Route Launched

bmi has launched a new route to Tel Aviv from Heathrow Airport.
The carrier launched the daily non-stop route to the Israeli city last Thursday (March 13th), which is being served by an Airbus A320.
There will be 180 economy class seats on each flight, as well as 20 business class seats.
With the addition of this new route, bmi will now serve a total of 38 destinations from Heathrow this summer.
Commenting on the new route, Nigel Turner, bmi chief executive officer, said that the airline had chosen to serve Tel Aviv because it is a "key destination in the Middle East".
He explained: "We identified Tel Aviv as having potential for greater competition and one that has an ideal fit with our mid haul expansion strategy from Heathrow.
"This has been borne out by levels of bookings exceeding our expectations and competitor airlines reducing their fares in anticipation of our entry into the market."
