New Stavanger Service For Newcastle Airport

Users of Newcastle International Airport are set to benefit from the introduction of a new non-stop service to Stavanger, it has been announced.

Launching on May 12th, 2008, the Eastern Airways service will provide north-east passengers with daily weekday flights to the Norwegian city, which are likely to appeal to business flyers in particular.

Stavanger is the location of many energy companies and it is hoped that the new service will be of benefit to businesses with Norwegian links.

Flights will depart from Newcastle Airport every weekday at 9.50am.

Dave Laws, chief executive of Newcastle International Airport, commented: "We know this direct flight will prove very popular and help further expand business links between the north-east and Norway.

"Eastern Airways make an important contribution to the development of the region through offering frequent flights to key destinations and we are delighted this new service will make it easier to travel between the north-east and Stavanger."

Eastern Airways was recently named the most punctual airline operating at Newcastle and Birmingham airports.
