No More Disruption For Manchester Passengers Travelling By Road

No more disruption for Manchester passengers travelling by roadConstruction work at Manchester Airport has finished ahead of schedule, ending the disruption caused to passengers wishing to access the hub by car.

A main road into the airport, Outwood Lane, which leads to and from Terminals 1 and 3, has been reopened five days earlier than planned.

Access to Outwood Lane was cut off while construction companies rolled a new £15 million bridge into place, which takes the road over the airport's new station platform.

Bob Longworth, capacity planning manager at Manchester Airport, commented: "We are very pleased to be able to open Outwood Lane early causing our passengers the minimum amount of disruption as they travel to and from the airport.

David Cochrane, from the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive's (GMPTE) Infrastructure Projects, added: "This is fantastic news and a reflection of how well the project is being managed by the Network Rail team on behalf of the funders and stakeholders."
