Passenger Milestone At Bristol Airport

Bristol International Airport has announced that it has reached a milestone in passenger numbers.
The south-west hub, which is the fifth largest UK airport outside London, received its six millionth flyer on Monday (April 21st) - representing a landmark in terms of annual passenger figures.
Bristol International first opened at its current site in 1957 and now offers customers in the region direct flights to 120 destinations in 29 countries.
Airlines operating at the hub include Lufthansa, easyJet and Ryanair.
Paul Kehoe, chief executive of Bristol International Airport, commented: "I'm sure the pioneers of air travel in Bristol would be proud to see the truly international airport that has grown from the seeds they planted.
"We believe recent trends show airlines are operating more efficiently than ever from Bristol International, with the average number of passengers per aircraft now over 100. This example demonstrates how we can meet continued demand for air travel from the south-west sustainably."
