Plans For Improvements To Stansted Access Roads

Stansted passengers may benefit in the future from improvements to the airport's road access, it has been revealed.
The Epping Forest Guardian reported on Wednesday (March 5th) that plans have been put forward for work on a new M11 junction near to the existing Stansted Airport sliproads.
Tom Harris, transport minister, indicated that the plans envisage the construction of a new junction closely linked to the existing junction 8/8A.
In addition, the proposals call for 0.8 miles of the A120 to be widened.
Mr Harris commented: "The announcement confirms our commitment to a safer and less congested M11 and A120. These improvements, once delivered, will also be a boost to the economy, both nationally and regionally.
"The Highways Agency has proposed this route as the best option for traffic needs in the future."
The outcome of the airport's second runway planning application, which is due to be submitted soon, is pivotal to the improvement work.
