Prestwick's Gateway To Europe Expands
Prestwick Airport in Scotland is to receive two extra routes from Ryanair later this year, it has been announced.
Latvia and the Netherlands will become closer to Scottish travellers from October 31st, when the new Riga and Eindhoven routes are established.
Prestwick's flight-path to Riga will be the first regular link between Scotland and the Baltic country of Latvia.
A total of four flights a week will be scheduled, with one-way tickets excluding charges starting at £2.49.
Eindhoven, in the south of the Netherlands, will receive five flights per week from Prestwick, with prices starting at a similar level.
Once these flight-paths are opened, Ryanair will be serving Prestwick's passengers with a total of 23 destinations.
Around 130,000 passengers are expected to use the new routes in the first year.
Other UK airports that fly to both Eindhoven and Riga include Manchester and London Heathrow.
