GATWICK AIRPORT PARKING NEWS - 26/11/2008
Irish budget airline Ryanair has announced it will begin flying on a new route to Germany from London Gatwick Airport early next year.
The service to Dusseldorf (Weeze) will begin daily flights from January 7th.
Ryanairs Stephen McNamara said: "Thanks to the collapse of a number of high fares airlines Ryanair is able to bring its guaranteed lowest airfare and no fuel surcharge to even more Gatwick passengers.
"Our new European routes challenge the high fares airlines which currently operate from Gatwick and we provide passengers with real choice and a low fares option from Gatwick."
The new route is the sixth service from the London airport. It formerly flew from London Stansted airport, but the low-cost carrier suggests that it has had to reduce its capacity at the former location due to rising costs.
Last week the company announced that it would begin flying to two Spanish destinations, Barcelona (Girona) and Alicante, from Gatwick Airport in the new year.
Ryanair expects to carry 52 million passengers on 688 routes in 2008.
