Stansted Gets 24-hour Bus Link

Stansted Airport has announced the launch of its first ever 24-hour local bus service.

The new transport link connects the hub to Harlow, Sawbridgeworth and Bishop's Stortford.

According to the airport, the service was made possible as a result of a partnership with local bus company Arriva. The existing 510 bus will operate an extra eight journeys a day, seven days a week.

What's more, from January 8th the 510's frequency will be increased to every 20 minutes during peak hours.

"Stansted Airport is very much a 24-hour business and it is only right, that where possible, we look to provide 24-hour public transport services to meet the needs of both our staff and passengers," explained Nicola Hooper, Stansted's head of airline relationships and transport.

"This extended service will benefit staff who either finish late at the airport, or start early, and will allow passengers from these towns to arrive at the airport at any time of their choice."

Recent figures showed a 6.3 per cent drop in the number of passengers using Stansted in November.
