Stansted's Christmas Security Rules Updated

Stansted Airport is expecting an extremely busy Christmas period and has issued some tips for passengers using the hub over the week.
The London airport revealed that it has estimated that over one million people will travel through the hub during the festive period and has revealed that it is vital passengers take heed of security advice.
According to Stansted, people should pack as much as possible, including all presents, in checked-in baggage and only take one piece of hand luggage.
Any presents kept in hand luggage should be left unwrapped to make security searches quicker.
Finally, the airport noted that Christmas crackers are not permitted at all on any flight so should be left at home.
"Security procedures at all airports are there for everyone's safety and passengers must also check with their airline what restrictions apply to both hand and checked-in baggage," explained Mark Murphy, customer service director at the hub.
"Our operational staff are geared up for a busy holiday period and with support from our volunteer staff we will be making sure everyone's Christmas holiday gets off to a cracking start."
Recently, low-cost carrier Ryanair revealed that it was set to launch routes to Angouleme and Faro from Stansted in the new year.
