Two New Hotels To Be Located Near Edinburgh Airport

Passengers travelling to and from Edinburgh Airport are set to benefit from the opening of two new hotels.

The construction of the Park Inn and Premier Inn hotels will form part of a new development at Newbridge, located near the airport.

The site will be named the Axis Business Park, and the development is expected to create hundreds of new jobs.

A restaurant, bar and swimming pool will be offered by the Park Inn amongst other features and the hotel will have 154 bedrooms.

According to the Edinburgh Evening News, the hotels have been welcomed by the city's business leaders.

Gavin Anderson, a partner at property consultancy firm Montagu Evans, commented: "It is an extremely large site and a cracking location. Getting these two hotels there already will assist in attracting other occupiers, and discussions have already started with one other major company to take six acres of the site.

"Both hotels will benefit being on the doorstep of the airport and from such easy access to the motorway. You can easily get to almost anywhere in central Scotland."

Building work on the development is expected to be completed by mid-2010.
