Virgin Begins Flights From Glasgow

Virgin Atlantic has announced that it is going to fly from Glasgow to Florida next summer, which marks the airline's first flight from Scotland.

However, Virgin has stressed that it will only operate ten flights to Orlando during the busiest periods of the year, reports the Glasgow Herald.

Industry experts are now hoping that this move could signal more planned routes from the airport.

The Scottish airline flyglobespan already flies to Sanford, near Orlando, as the area has become increasingly popular among Scottish holidaymakers.

"I would say this is a significant announcement from one of the leading holiday airlines in the UK," an industry insider told the newspaper.

"Virgin is a massive international brand and this is their first foray into the Scottish market. The fact that Scotland is now on their radar is significant in itself," the insider concluded.
