Bristol Airport - Blue Badge Drop Off
Bristol Airport Blue Badge Drop-Off Guide (2026)
If you're travelling from Bristol Airport and hold a Blue Badge, it's important to understand the airport's current drop-off arrangements before you travel. Many passengers understandably assume that Blue Badge holders can be dropped off free of charge outside the terminal, but this is not the case.

To help make your journey as smooth as possible, we've put together this quick guide explaining how Bristol Airport's Blue Badge drop-off system works and what you need to do when arriving at the airport.
Is Blue Badge Drop-Off Free at Bristol Airport?
No.
Unlike some UK airports, Bristol Airport does not provide free access to the terminal forecourt for Blue Badge holders.
Instead, passengers displaying a valid Blue Badge are entitled to an extended stay at a reduced rate in the airport's dedicated Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park.
The current charge is:
- £8.50 for up to 40 minutes
This allows significantly more time than the standard drop-off tariff, giving passengers plenty of opportunity to unload luggage, assist travellers with mobility needs and make their way comfortably towards the terminal.
Where is the Blue Badge Drop-Off Area?
Blue Badge holders should drive directly to the Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park, located close to the terminal.
Follow signs to Bristol Airport from all major roads. On approach, select the right-hand lane and follow the pink signs to the Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park.
There is flat-level access to the Bristol Airport Terminal via the new covered walkway, perfect for travellers with mobility issues.
How Do You Claim the Reduced Blue Badge Rate?
Using the Blue Badge concession is simple.
- Drive into the Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park as normal.
- Take your time assisting passengers and unloading luggage.
- When you're ready to leave, drive to the exit barrier.
- Scan the barcode located on the back of your Blue Badge at the barrier.
- The system will automatically apply the reduced Blue Badge tariff.
If there are any issues scanning your badge, press the help button.

Need Additional Assistance?
Bristol Airport provides several ways to obtain help if required.
If you're having difficulty at the exit barrier, simply press the Help button to speak with a member of the airport team.
Alternatively, passengers can visit the Assistance Point, located next to the Transport Interchange, where staff can provide guidance and support.
If you've pre-booked Special Assistance with your airline, it's still advisable to allow extra time when arriving at the airport, particularly during busy holiday periods.
Planning Ahead Makes Travel Easier
Airport layouts and traffic management continue to evolve, and Bristol Airport has introduced these arrangements to help manage congestion while still providing additional support for passengers with reduced mobility.
Checking the latest procedures before travelling can help avoid unnecessary delays and ensure your journey begins as stress-free as possible.
