Oakwood Parking Reviews

Good, reasonably priced car park for Bristol Airport. Location first class, transfers very good, pleasant, cheerful drivers and also those manning the reception. Only issue was ...it gets muddy when it is raining.

Car park was easy to find. On arrival, we were directed where to park. The car park itself is loose gravel which does make it slightly difficult to wheel suitcases from a distance. Handed over keys fine and was given a card with info how to be collected at the end of the holiday. I must say, the transfers itself were all smooth running and the drivers were helpful and friendly. Slight issue on return when firstly my keys couldn’t be found, eventually discovered by another member of staff who was carrying an odd box of keys - he went off to locate the car and then came back a few minutes later to say I had been blocked in by several other cars which needed to be moved. He went off to find these car keys and to move these cars with another member of staff and returned with my car around 10 minutes after, which was fine, however I thought the car park would have some kind of system where cars ready to collect that day would be in a separate, accessible place? Surely this could cause chaos if many people return to the car park at one time. Luckily, my car isn’t new as it was returned to me looking like it had been parked in a hedge for a week! The staff member did offer to wash it, which was kind of him, however, after a long flight and waiting around for my car, I obviously didn’t fancy waiting even longer for it to be washed! Good service if organised a bit better.

Drop off arrangements were clear and well handled. Collection was chaotic which may have been down to a couple of delayed flights. Catching the minibus back was a free for all. We missed two buses as people simply charged ahead and got in despite us waiting patiently having informed the company of our arrival. It didn’t help that there was no set drop-off/ pick- up point. It would be better if drivers had a list of the order that people notify them that they have arrived. The poor drivers seemed to be handling calls as well as manage pick-ups. Car was also filthy when we collected it.

Parking easy. Could do with a larger reception area and a much better toilet facility. Staff friendly.

All right on way to airport . On return at night we had to make a call and when a van came there was insufficient room for all passengers so had to wait for another van to come . No assistance putting luggage in van . When we arrived to parking , we were given key and had to roam all around the car park in the dark . When we found our car it was wedged in by other cars and took a huge amount of manoeuvring to finally get out .

I have used Oakwood loads of times through the years and I’ve noticed that the car park has extended alot, but there’s still only 1 mini bus supplying the airport which is causing people to wait for pick ups and drop offs for longer which in turn isn’t cost effective.

Pick up and drop off fine. The lady at check in was not happy when I ask not to park my car in the mud like they did last time. My car was very dusty and because I picked up in the night didn’t notice till next day. Inside carpet full of grass.

Our car was blocked in when we arrived back.

The parking was very close to Bristol Airport which was great but loads of loose stones.

Overall happy with the service .the drop off was quick and efficient and the shuttle bus picked us back up from the airport without issue… the downside is that unfortunately the car park is a dirt road which obviously kicks up lots of dust so the car was dusty and dirty on our return.
