Oakwood Parking Reviews

Having used the rival one the week before I'm going to compare a little and it is slightly unfair as the ridiculous roadworks started this week and are beyond their control. Positives; for a weekend break it was good value with discount. The people were all really helpful, humorous, and friendly. The pick up vehicle was clean with nice drivers and they have 2 minibuses going. Negatives; the site was very muddy, so in bad weather big muddy puddles and car was quite dirty. Bit of a wait for bus due to roadworks on the doorstep. As I said slightly unfair as weather and roadworks are beyond their control. It's causing massive traffic jams so plan to arrive here early till they finish. They could improve the drainage and tarmacking to make it less muddy.

Quick pick up. Would be better if both cars weren’t blocked in and a solution for not placing baggage in wet mud was created.

Check is was great, really friendly gentleman. Pick up, not so much, unfriendly patronising lady. Another car was parked in front of mine. I explained to her that there was a Burgendy car parked in front of mine and asked if it might be moved so I could get out. The lady snapped saying 'we don't have any Burgendy cars here so that's wrong'! After a long journey and before a long drive home, I really couldn't be bothered to argue with her or point out I could actually see 3 Burgendy cars from where I was standing. I just took my key and did a six point turn to squeeze out of my space. My car also looked like It had been hand braked around a field all week. All 4 wheel arches thick with grass and mud. I feel when cars are brought back from wherever that have been parked they should at least been rinsed if filthy! I've used Oakwood several times before.. Not sure I would again.

The driver seemed a little irritated when picking us up on our return, saying to me I was the awkward one, not sure what that meant. He said he was about to leave when we arrived at the minibus and that he should have left earlier (not sure why that was my fault) he then said any longer and we would have been charged more! He just seemed grumpy, maybe he had just had a bad day. We were then delayed as they couldn’t find our keys.

Drop off was perfect, however, collection was disappointing, it took me almost 20 minutes to find my vehicle having been told twice it was parked in the wrong place. The parking ground is not ideal, prior to collection there must have been a rainfall, this made the ground/ broken tarmac very difficult to walk on, thus making the inside rubber mats in vehicle very muddy/dirty where drivers have moved the vehicle around.

Ive used Oakwood for many years but on my recent booking I struggled to get my case on and off the bus as drivers no longer help you. For a female travelling alone it can be difficult.

Drop off in the rain stood an outside for 15-20 minutes as service was slow, was 4th the queue. Could do with a canopy to shelter people. Also staff smoking outside and the smoke blowing into the queue, not nice!!.

Very easy to book at a reasonable price. The pick up and drop off was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. My only fault was when I collected my vehicle on my return the drivers footwell, mats and door sills were caked in thick mud. I appreciate vehicles have to be moved but some consideration and care should be given.

Great location as it’s so close to the airport. Buses run frequently to the airport. In our experience pick up at the end of our holiday was a bit chaotic. Had to wait for 2nd bus to come, only to find it was same driver that picked up the group before us. Would suggest clearer instructions for pick up as the drop off zone is just too busy, maybe the other side of the road would have been more suitable. The phone number on the card just kept giving us a recorded message as well so that was frustrating. However, polite, friendly staff on way in and out so all turned out good in the end.
